Minimum Qualifications and Experience
The applicant must have twelve (12) cumulative months of verifiable work experience as a Construction Laborer or in substantially similar construction work. The qualifying experience must include at least three (3) of the following:
Construction-site clearing or preparation;
Loading, unloading, moving, or staging construction materials; Digging, trenching, backfilling, grading, or compaction;
Mixing, transporting, placing, or finishing concrete or mortar; Assisting with formwork; or
Using common construction hand tools and portable power tools.
Experience will be evaluated based on employment dates, average hours worked per week, and the duties described in the application or rsum. Experience may be verified through prior employer contact, experience letters, employment records, or other reliable documentation. Equivalent part-time experience will be credited on a proportional basis.
Essential Physical Functions
With or without reasonable accommodation, the essential physical functions of the position include standing and/or walking for up to seven (7) hours during an eight-hour shift, with normal meal and rest breaks. The position also requires occasional bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, climbing, and working in low or awkward positions.
The worker must frequently be able to lift or carry 11 to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or carry 26 to 50 pounds, including tools, lumber, formwork components, concrete or masonry materials, debris, and other construction materials. Loads exceeding 50 pounds will be handled through team lifting or mechanical assistance.
Manual Construction Duties
Manual construction duties include loading, unloading, moving, and staging materials; site clearing and cleanup; digging, trenching, backfilling, grading, and compacting; mixing, transporting, placing, and spreading concrete or mortar; assisting with forms, braces, barricades, and other temporary structures; and operating common construction hand tools and portable power tools.
Following employer-provided training and under required supervision, duties may also include assisting with the erection or dismantling of supported scaffolds. All required safety instruction, personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and scaffold training will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker.
Measurement and Plan-Reading Requirements
The worker must be able to use a standard tape measure to read and record dimensions in feet and inches to the nearest 1/8 inch. The worker must also be able to read a simple construction work sketch, detail, or plan sheet sufficiently to identify the sheet title or number, assigned work location, stated dimensions, material notes, and standard symbols identified by a legend.
No design work, engineering calculations, or independent interpretation of an entire drawing set is required. The worker must be available to work the regular workdays and hours stated in the ETA-9142C. Any overtime availability, schedule, and rate of pay will be limited to the terms separately stated in the application, work contract, and job announcement.

WORKERS COMPENSATION PROVIDED
Three-Fourths Guarantee: Workers will be offered employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of the total period that begins with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ends on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any.
Transportation and Subsistence: If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will provide, reimburse, or advance payment for the worker’s transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved.
